When it comes to fitness, you're not competing with your best friend, or the girl next to you in Body Blast class, or anybody else. You're just competing against yourself as you strive to become a stronger, healthier, fitter, more complete person. You should be trying to be just a little better each week, each month, each year. Don't try to be perfect - just a little bit better.
Ok, so maybe you're not totally buying the "you're only competing against yourself" idea. After all, a little friendly competition can help motivate you to be more consistent and push a little harder - I agree. However, for the most part you should be focusing on where you are in your fitness journey. Trying to do something that your body's not ready for will get you injured faster than you can say 'Ouch'! Be patient, consistent, and stick to your game plan and you'll be crushing that girl next to you in Body Blast class sooner than you think!
There's definitely an aspect of fitness though, where it's not just you - or at least it shouldn't be. We all need encouragement and support. We need guidance, we need advice, we need accountability, we need motivation, and we need inspiration. Don't try to be a lone ranger, surround yourself with a support team. At Adamsons, we want to be your pit crew. We want to keep you on the track to success and limit the breakdowns! At the end of the day, it's not just you. Surround yourself with a team and you'll be on the right track to fitness success!
